Last summer I got a text from my contact at the blockchain investment firm that I’d been working with. It was an image of a slide that she wanted my help with. The title: ‘Autonomous Service Networks.’ The subtitle: ‘Scalable Infrastructure with ESG Embedded in the Protocol.’ I looked at that slide and thought, “What the hell are they even talking about?”
So I took on the task. I spent months researching blockchain and having conversations with the team before I could say what they did in simple terms. That whole slide comes down to one sentence: blockchain is the world’s next infrastructure upgrade.
These brilliant people, all steeped in finance and blockchain, can’t unlearn what they know.
There’s a Reddit community called “Explain Like I’m 5” (r/explainlikeimfive). Millions gather in this space because explaining something to a five-year-old is hard to do.
